Sending Money

How do I send money?

Sending money with Sorted Wallet only takes a few taps:

  1. Tap Send and choose the asset and network you want to send from, then enter the amount.

  2. Choose who to send to. You can pick a saved contact, search another Sorted user by phone or email, or manually enter or scan a wallet address.

  3. Review the confirmation screen, which shows the recipient, the total and any network fee.

  4. Tap Send now to complete the transfer.

Please note: Once a payment is sent, the transaction cannot be reversed, so always double-check the recipient, network and amount before you confirm.

Can I send funds to someone who does not use a Sorted Wallet?

Yes. Sorted Wallet is compatible with any standard blockchain wallet anywhere in the world. You do not need the recipient to use a Sorted Wallet. Just make sure the network, the asset and the wallet address are correct, then send, and the funds will be on their way.

What fee do I pay to send money?

Sorted Wallet does not charge any platform fee for sending money between people. The only cost is a small blockchain network fee, known as a gas fee, which goes to the network that processes your transaction, not to Sorted. This fee varies depending on the network you use and how busy it is at the time.

In a recent update, we added the ability to pay this gas fee in stablecoins directly on selected networks, so you do not always need to hold a separate token just to cover fees. The exact amount is always shown on the confirmation screen before you send, so there are no surprises.

I tried to send more than my balance. Why was I stopped?

If you enter an amount larger than your available balance, the app flags it and will not let you continue. Lower the amount to within your available balance and try again.

I entered a wallet address and the app said it is not correct.

The app checks that a wallet address is valid before letting you continue. If you see an invalid-address message, re-check the address, paste it again, or scan the recipient's QR code to avoid typing mistakes.

What happens after I send?

You will see your payment being submitted, then a pending status. You can close that screen, and the app will notify you when it completes. The transaction then shows as either successful or, if something went wrong, failed. Failed payments are not deducted, so you can simply try again.

Can I save someone I sent to as a contact?

Yes. On the confirmation screen you can tap Add name to save the recipient, so sending to them again is faster next time.

What are gas tokens?

Every blockchain charges a small fee to process a transaction, called a gas fee, and that fee is normally paid in the network's own token (for example, POL on Polygon or ETH on Ethereum). However, with our recent update, Sorted Wallet users can now pay the gas fee in USDT directly on selected networks, so you can send your funds without keeping a separate token on hand for fees.
